Take Control of Your PDF Documents With PDFTK
There’s a good chance that you use Adobe Acrobat documents in your daily work, school or personal life. They’re very useful for keeping a nicely formatted copy of your information, especially manuals and educational material.
But what if you only need part of a really large PDF document? Or what if you if have a collection of related PDF documents you’d like to merge into a single document? PDFTK will handle these for you, as well as rotate, add a watermark or stamp and (possibly) repair damaged PDF files.
There are several flavors of PDFTK:
Command-line: (Available at PDFHacks) Download the Windows version (about 2.2 MB in size). After you’ve extracted, copy it to C:\Windows\System32 so it will be available whenever you open a command prompt.
To merge (or concatenate) multiple PDF files into a single document, you can use this command:
pdftk *.pdf cat output merged.pdf
Note: This will merge your PDF files in alphabetical order, so you may need to rename your files to merge them in the desired order.
There are many other options. Check out PDFHack’s PDFTK page for the full listing.
PDFTK Builder: A graphical front-end for PDFTK from Angusj.com, PDFTK Builder presents PDFTK’s options in a tabbed dialog, as shown in the screen below:

Portable PDFTK Builder: If you don’t want to install PDFTK Builder, or just want to run it from a USB stick, there is also a portable version, available here at PortableApps.com
Bottom Line: Need to split, combine, rotate, rearrange (or more!) your PDF documents? Check out PDFTK or PDFTK Builder to meet those needs.
